I recently purchased this car and ever since I bought it it has pulled the the right when I apply the brakes, so I replaced the drivers side front caliper and went to bleed the brake lines and I wasn't getting any fluid out the bleeder or the lines. So I traced the lines back and everything seemed fine up to the abs box, the vaccum line for the brakes had been cut and sealed shut with rubber and the rubber had rotted. Couldn't get into the abs box for some reason the cover wouldn't come off, any ideas?
What is this vacuum line you mention that has been cut and 'plugged'? Goes from where to where? What kept you out of the storage compartment that the ABS is in? Locked?
The vaccum went from the abs box to the front of the car into a rubber hose. And I think it's called an abs box, it's where the steel lined run to the stop in the back of the car. But I took all the bolts out and it still wouldn't pull off
So should I just replace the brake line for the drivers front? The whole steel line?
I would trace it back breaking every connection till I found damage or till I got fluid. Might look into the proporting valve if it has one. Is it getting fluid out the other side?

It gets fluid tall all three, but I couldn't find damage, and our parts store just sells straight lines which would be a pain to bend, but there is no damage to the lines
Do you get brake fluid out of the bleeder on the passenger side front caliper?
The front and rear brake circuits are completely separate and only share the master cylinder.
I have the exact same problem on my 86, no brake fluid out of the front drivers side when bleeding, car pulls to the right when braking. So what is the problem, solution.
It's most likely the ABS pump is bad which is unfortunate as they are hard to come by and expensive. I'm sure some searching will turn up many others who have been down this road.

this is an old thread but the new poster should "cycle" the abs pump first before anything else. find gravel or snow and lock up. not too fast just get the pump tocycle 4 or 5 times.
if u notice any change for the better, rebleed, repeat. should be good to go. i was on my 87.
do 86 have abs?
86 does have abs. I've read up on this before as I thought I had a problem with the abs pump at one time. One thing recommended was disconnecting the lines and try backflushing the abs pump as apparently at times junk will get into the pump and block some of the small openings in it. I have not done that and only mention this as it was recommended by others with pump problems like described.
When I bought my 86 over 2 years ago I looked to see who repaired or rebuilt them, at that time I was unsuccessful finding anyone that did that any more. I did find one thread where someone removed the pump and put a proportioning valve in it's place and apparently it worked though you wouldn't have abs any more.
