drag radials worth it?
im looking for a few extra tenths in the quarter mile to drop my E/T into the 12 sec zone and was wondering if a good set of drag radials would be what im looking for. im in the process of installing my MAD front ypipe, which should give me a tenth or 2, and combined with the cold weather in a few months, should put me pretty close to 13.0. now, im getting good 60fts from my street tires (see sig), but im still not launching as hard as i could be. i was wondering if any of you guys have some track results after installing radials over street tires. if i could get my 60fts into the low 1.8 or high 1.7 range (combined with the cold weather and front ypipe) i think 12.99 could be possible. what kind of DRs are you guys running and how did they affect your E/T and 60fts? thanks

drag radials took me from a 12.8 to a 12.3. I was getting consistant 1.9's with a light launch on my bfg's and since I was no longer spinning through the 330 I gained quite a bit of time. My mph dropped from 112 to 110.

I recently had my A4 rebuilt with a shift kit and 2,000rpm TC (stock was 1,500rpm); my prior best short time was 1.97sec on streets still.
I think the DRs will help especially if you do a TC upgrade. The shift kit and raised shift points also helped my ET.
For sure you will get some ponies from the mandrel-bent front Y.
