Shifter **** thread size on a ZF6? Hurst won't work!
Just wondering if anybody would know the shifter **** thread size on my 6 speed. I just bought a universal Hurst T shifter, kinda like a throw back look, and it didn't fit. The handle itself is a little too big to fit by itself, and the biggest insert is too small. Maybe I'll tap it? I'll have to tap the backing nut as well. Please help me! Thanks! :seeya

I have one of those T-shift ***** sitting in my tool box too. Been meaning to take it to a machine shop to have it threaded properly. Take note that the angle in which the thread comes is not a very pleasing angle to drive with. When you do thread the hole, you may want to make the adjustment to the angle at that time. I know zrchris was trying to get Hurst to make some that fit the C4's and actually had them thread one for his.

I have a B&M ripper shifter, so I bought the chromed T-handle with a thumb button for the nitrous. I too had fitment problems, so I brought my stock shifter and the new T-handle to my machinist and had him tap the shifter handle so it would fit over the shifter. Right now, I have zero complaints. Oh, I also have a few thank you's to TNT for their nitrous. WOW!!

Thanks again. I'm going to have to do the same with mine. I was told by zrchris that the threads are 9/16"-18 thread, and that the newr style shifter handles are harder to modify. I have a few older Hurst shifters, so I think I'll try one of those, after I get it modified. Thanks for the info guys! :seeya
