Default Need HELP NOW on A/C!!!!

Someone please help me!! I started my 92 up today to get her cooled down before I put my baby daughter in so I could go to the stupid Emissions Testing Center :mad (I HATE THAT PLACE, WHAT A RIP OFF). Anyway, it was blowing cold air, drove a couple of blocks, noticed air was getting warmer, and that the green LED light above the button on climate control was blinking off and on. I know that if it is low on freon it will shut itself off to protect A/C system, I want to check the compressor by hooking 12 volts straight up to it to see if it clicks on, which is the right wire to do this to from compressor, the green or black, anyone know where else I might need to look at??? Please help, I need this fixed before I go to Mid America's FunFest!!

Sounds like you have a leak somewhere. Fill it up with feon and put some dye in it. I just had my low pressure switch and o-ring replaced. You can really see where it leaks with that dye!
