Mine moves a degree or 2 when I tighten the distributor down. I usually have to tighten down very slowly when setting timing while watching the timing mark in order to get it perfect. Also, sometimes you can set it a couple degrees advanced or retarded and tighten it so it goes to the right spot when it's tight.
