Default L98 pullys

Has anyone out there used an underdrive pully setup on an L98 ? I have a 91 with a few mods and was considering either a March or a Jet pully kit. Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks folks .

I used a march crank pulley and can't rem who's alt pulley, then deleted my AC, smog, idler and put a standard rotation pump on. I'm still deciding/testing if the alt pulley is gonna work out. I get 12v in gear, 13v idle, 14v cruise.

If you have a 91 get the March 3 piece set up and you will be happy! Decreases parasitic loss.

What difference should I notice. Is it worth the $235.00 ?

If you wanna notice something get a nitrous kit it'll be much better bang for buck.

I always thought those underdrive pulleys were a gimmick.

Yes, they are worth it.

Honestly, they are not a gimmick. It decreases parasitic loss from accessory pulleys.

How much is the parasitic loss? Somebody told me the A/C compressor uses 4 HP. Decreasing that by 10% or 15% is negligible.

1. A little bit.
2. Not really.

If your spending time at the drags it may help some.
For a street car, forget it.

I would look for a used set. Unfortunately you cannot not pop the hood to show off the great looking pulleys. Like a F-body or similar.
