Well.. my decision to keep the car or not has been made for me. Got a call at 7:30 this morning and the frame is tweaked.
Centerline is off 7mm (short), and the rear is off 9mm (to the right). That's fixable, but is probably major $$$, and a car (especially a C4), is never the same after it's been tweaked like that.
Copuld this have been prevented?? Just wondering I know it's hindsight. I am sorry to hear about the frame :( I am talking about camber brace or maybe an X brace underneath?? Possiblities?

Hey Glock, sorry about the final bad news, but I know of a 90 BUILT 383 SR vert for $15,250 if you are interested. This thing is very nice and a few of us forum members have had the chance to see how nice it actually is. http://www.corvetteforum.net/c5/ralexand/
Give Rick a buzz if you are interested. You wont be disappointed. Eventhough it isnt a LT1/4, it is WAY faster.
Bummer Glock, really sorry to hear about the damage prognosis. I guess we won't be doing any power slides for a while, huh? And if we do, I assume we won't be doing them around curbs... Also, does this mean it's time to strip all the goodies out of yours and transplant them into another?

 If you think i haven't learned a lesson about respecting the power of a sports car with too much power, you're wrong. This has been a nightmare...

If i had the time and $ to buy and swap out the engine/tranny .. i would.. but I don't :(. I'm going to lose $2k on the motor.. they are only giving me 50% credit for it.
:(
Well, i had it checked with one of those machines in Dallas, but i don't think fixing it is going to be the same. Can you ask your dad what he thinks of how much mine is bent?
my frame was bent slightly in an accident a few years ago. The C4 frame is in 6 pieces, so they replaced the damaged section and straighten the whole thing out. Aside from the roof panel being slightly (and i mean slightly) outa square, you can't tell it ever happened. The car rides perfectly (actually better cause i improved the alignment specs when i got it fixed), the tires wear perfectly and it doesn't pull or loose aligment or anything like that. I dont know how bad yours is, but my body was twisted so bad the roof mounting points were off by well over a inch. like you , i thought there was no way to really repair it, but I'm completely happy with it after the repairs. good luck
Curtis, this is a blessing in disguise. Trust me on this one. Get another car and be happy with that. Now is your chance to start fresh, no correcting someone elses mistakes or redoing something that has already been done. A fresh canvas to start off with.......
