I have an 84 vette (74k) that had a starting problem after it has been run a while.... It lost spark.....after sitting a while and it cooled down it would fire back up....didn't do this all the time....just when it felt like it. Replaced coil and ign module in dist (Accel) and always seems to fire up now....BUT after it warms up it won't fire in crank position but when you release the key to run position it fires up. I can crank it for 15 sec and won't fire until in run position...can also just barely touch crank position with key and be running.... Any suggestions ??? I was told to replace the ign switch on steering column...Any help would be appreciated... Thanks, Al..aka carnutt 94

You don't necessarily need a new ignition switch but maybe just an "adjustment" of the switch. The switch is mounted to the column with screws through an elongated mounting bracket. It is NOT uncommon for the switch to require adjustment. Could you need new? Certainly. You would also want to inspect the switch electrical connecters (there are two) while you're there.
The "no crank" when hot is a separate issue and with your miles and if it's an OE starter that problem doesn't surprise me. The coil and module were likely not needed but maybe good maintenance and if you say it helped then there's no argue.
You DO NOT have a fuse or ground issue. Is cleaning grounds good maintenance? Yes - but certainly not required for the issues you mention. Your coil and module replacement has no relationship to your current issues.
Do you have an FSM?
GOOGLE - GM column mounted ignition switch adjustment and I would expect results. I didn't look and won't.
Ignition switch adjustment hasn't changed since GM started using the column mounted key/cylinder in '69. Adjustment will be in any FSM that you have

Never thought about doing an adjustment and will inspect connectors ...but why would it fire when cold but not after it reaches operating temp...never got hot..always norm temps. Always cranked over, just not fire when warm while in start (crank) position...but fire as soon as you release key to run position ????
