I know Random Tech makes specific replacement cats for the '95 LT1, but I'm curious if there are other alternatives available, whether specific or universal. FWIW, I'm running DRM 1.75" shorties on the front, PowerEffects on the back.
I have the carsound generic bullet cats. They will not work on an Auto though. If you have a 6sp, call Chris@SpeedDemon. They were less than $200 for both. Installation extra.
Re: '95 LT1 Replacement Cat Choices?? (silver & red CE)
Just curious, what's wrong with the stock ones?
Eric
If you NEED to replace them then I guess hi-flow would be a good idea.
If you're just looking for a perfomance gain I don't think you'll see much, certainly not enough to justify spending that kind of money. Randoms are around $300 each if I'm not mistaken. I had a high flow cat on another car and it was a total waste of $. When I later went with a straight pipe I saw some improvement.
If you don't have to worry about emissions testing then just remove the cats otherwise I would just leave the stock ones on there.
