Default 92 A/C vacuum block

Hey All,

Was trying to figure out why my A/C blows out of the Defroster vents only.

Removed the vacuum connector from the vacuum block on the controller, now I can't get the connector back on the vacuum block.

Also the rubber ends of the vacuum block have split from me trying to get it back on.

Can the vacuum block be fixed or bought?
How do you get the damn thing reconnected?

Thanks,
Roy

Which AC? C68 - C60? The vacuum switch at the dash control for a C60 or at the programmer for the C68 near the accelerator pedal?

1992 C68 near the accelerator pedal.

Thanks,
Roy

The default mode for the HVAC system is heat, so the air will come out of the defrost duct and the ducts under the dash.

You probably have a bad vacuum check valve ($4 at any auto parts store). It's under the passenger side fuel rail cover:

Some of them are all black and shaped slightly differently but it will be in the same position.

That was the 1st thing I replaced.
Now I have the programmer / controller (not sure what it's called) the unit by the gas peddle disconnected from the vacuum block and the rubber ends of the block ( the ends on the controller side) are splitting.

I can't get the connector back on the block and concerned the rubber ends are to far gone to reconnect.

Is there a trick to reconnecting the block?

Thanks,
Roy

The C68 harness is the same all years '90+. If you feel yours is way far gone you could search eBay for 10158085 or post a WTB or whatever. A correct harness would have a taped tag with the part # on it.

A trick to connecting? I don't know but I'd ask "pcolt94" for help. He's successfully repaired electrical in the programmer and I'm sure understands and could explain "first hand" the vacuum connector.

Just to clear up what part I'm having an issue with, I can't get the harness back on the back of the programmer.

The programmer rubber tips ( this is not mine) are all split.

I understand where you're struggling. I've never had a need to "be there". Use eBay to search for that number I mentioned and there should be a few I believe you can ZOOM and what not.
