I currently have after market shocks, not sure brand on the front-end. They seem fine, but with new brakes, rotors, wheels and Toyo tires, I am wondering if I should go ahead and just get some KYB's put on? I bought the car used and not sure how old the current shocks are? Should I just leave it alone, if it isn't causing me problems, or get them changed?
If you really have the itch to upgrade to KYB's, it only runs about $140 for the entire set. Of course, that is just for the shocks (not installation).
I was in your same spot about three months ago. My dad kept saying leave them alone, my mechanic said the same, and my wife...well that is always what she says. I replaced them, and I am very, very glad that I did. I can really tell a difference. I just replaced them with the stock shocks and did all four at the same time. It cost me about $300.00 for the Bilsteins and labor....A little high, but it drives alot better...... That is just my 2 cents.............now give me my change..!
