The egr valve is starting to give me problems on my '87 L98 auto coupe. The car is stock except for a cat-back exhaust. I have plans to start putting some go-fast goodies on the car like long tube headers, eliminating the cat etc (no emissions checks here ). I was wondering if there were any performance gains to be had by getting rid of the egr and what I have to do so it doesn't throw the engine out of whack or turn on the check engine light.
Also,I've heard guys talking about removing the "frisbee" from the water pump. Is it in front of or behind the pulley? If someone has a picture they could post, that would be great.
