I was thinking about putting some horsepower in my c4 vette i already have corsa exhaust was thinking about headers next.. but what is needed for a aftermarket camshaft.... and what can you guys recommend for good power i am a bit new at this stuff.. also what else can i put in it to gain horsepower besides camshaft
First....welcome to the Forum. Your new with only two posts so far. Learn to use the Search option above....the advanced will get you more than a general search.
Headers will add power. What you will have to search before adding any cam is what sources do you have near you that can re-flash your computer to accommodate a new cam. Adding a cam without having someone close to do a dyno tune and tweak the current tune for the new cam will end up giving you nothing but headaches. The stock computer will not be able to handle the changes to the engine by adding the cam.

This is good advice, you will need to upgrade the valvetrain. 1.6 roller rockers, new springs, pushrods and a good dyno tune. You could contact Llyod Elliot or Advanced Inductions for packages and who to do the tuning. You will need longtubes before a cam swap, they will be a nice hp/tq gain too. While doing a cam swap you might as well add an underdrive pulley too.
-1 3/4" Headers
-Good aftermarket Heads or porting by Elliot's, or AI, with new
springs, and seals. (heads optional, depends on power goal)
-Camshaft, GM Hot cam, Comp cam 503, Elliot's cam.
-1.6 roller rockers.
-PCM Tune
-Stall converter if auto.
-Gears
