For an '87 you could have 2 stock options as to the rear-axle model and very few ratios.

Is this car a 4 + 3 or an automatic?

On your console lid is there a label that says "Service Parts Identification" with several 3 digit sets of information?

"When it came over" hints that you're somewhere other than the US of A.

Where?

His profile shows "GB" so that could be Great Britain.

Here's some quick reading for the 1987
1987 Production stats and "RPO" codes
1987 Specifications

At the bottom of the page for the Specifications, it shows the stock rear end ratio for the auto trans is 2.73:1. There was an optional ratio of 3.07:1 available and the Service Identification Parts sticker would have "G92" listed if that optional ratio was included when the car was built.
