Default Vacuum question

1989 L98 with auto trans

I did vacuum test and got a reading of 18. I did notice that the needle did move so very slightly, but never enough to get to 17 or 19 while at steady idle. Is it normal. I trying to run down a rough idle problem

I would say that very good idle vac and more likely the small changes are because its chasing the idle changes rather than the idle is chasing the vacuum changes.

18 in. vacuum is fine for a mild to stock engine...As cam profiles go up, vacuum goes down....WW.
