I recently purchased a used LT4 HotCam kit over the internet. It came in today. The cam was in a Comp box, and had a cam card from Thunder Racing with the CC306 specs on it. I'm hoping/guessing that maybe the guy just re-used the box that his new cam came in to ship it.
Here's what is stamped on the end of the cam:
586 FM49
and
214 99R
Anyone know how to tell if this is indeed an LT4 HotCam??
I can't answer your question, but odds are the box is for the cam he installed. Why not email the guy and ask him. I would try to tie out the code though just to be sure.
I have my LT4 HOT-CAM here, on the end of my cam is 586 WB44 and 028 97L. More than likely they are production numbers, not part numbers. Mine is new purchased from a local GM Performace shop.
Dont worry you have a HOT CAM, i went throu the same thing when i got mine from the forum also, the 586 in the #'s confirms that it is a hot cam, the rest are just batch and production #'s.....goodluck
