take a look at the hose in the tank from the pump sounds loose or you got a bad pump.

did this just start doing this?

could be bad injectors too

any fuel in the oil?

The reason I pUT all the new things on my Corvette was from the beginning when I started it it would stay on for a little bit turn off and eventually would stay on after few minutes but then when I went someplace I turned it off it wouldn't start up again was hard to do after eight or nine times it would stay on

so once you got it running it ran good? when and where do you smell fuel? out the exaust the oil or the vacumme line? before you changed the fpr how long would it hold pressure? does the oil smell like gas now? how many miles on it and are the injectors original?

The way I understand it, the fuel pump relay turns on your fuel pump for a couple seconds when you turn on the key. Will it start and then keep pressure? Once you start the engine and build oil pressure, it keeps the fuel pump lit. It may be operating correctly.(?)

Make sure you didn't nick one of the many o-rings on the fuel rail and it's leaking.

yes it ran good until I turned it off and tried to restart it took 8 tries im not sure where the smell is coming from. once started it held pressure 40-42 psi 73,000miles
injectors are original no the oil doesn't smell like gas

what sort of regulator did you put in, what brand ?
if it holds pressure while its running then i wouldnt stress too much.
the standard regulators were designed to hold pressure due to EPA regulations governing evaporation of fuel from fuel systems.
I have run aftermarket regs in my TPI and single plane intakes that drop to zero almost instantly the engine is shut off, but they dont affect the way engine runs.

you have two threads with the same issue....sounds like either the check valve is bad in your pump or the lines just above the pump are loose or cracked....if you had to clean the tank and the sender, probably would have been a good time to change the pump, considering you threw so many parts at it anyway...

Going to venture to say that if u inspect the fpr hoses, you might find cracked or damaged from the swap. if not, get another fpr as the new one clearly isn't working as well as the previous one.

then if your injectors are originals, i'll venture they need to be replaced. i am actually surprised Aklim hasn't said that yet. what is the name of the guy everyboy uses here?

and finally, as others have said, check the hoses at the fuel pump.

also, try the pedal to the floor trick to clear the injectors and see if it starts. at least this will tell you if your injectors are flooded??

I am still betting his new fpr blew the pulsator or rubber line off his fuel pump with a leaky injector (s)

but as Aklim says all the time, that doesn't tell you if they are stuck partially open or closed does it?
