How crazy is NOS in a Convertible?
I want to put a 5174 in my convertible for quite some time; I had the kit overnighted 9 months ago!? The bottle that comes with the kit was emongous and took up the entire rear cargo area - remember I got a convertible and only have that little space where the top goes. I bought a smaller bottle and the CNC aluminium brakets so I still pretty committed. So how crazy is it to have the bottle behind the seats, being so close to the driver? What are the chances of this thing letting go and spraying me with N2O?

It's about as crazy as putting nitrous in any vette!! Ain't they fast enough!!?? :jester :D But that's what "crazy" was made for!! People like us!! Go for it!!

Crazy? how about see my sig :) and pic. Sad thing is I won't be allow to race at the track. No roll cage for convertible.

NOT Crazy, I have a 150 NX kit in mine. I believe that the safety valve or hose will blow before the bottle. Mine unit is mounted in the same position as the one in the picture above.

Remove your spare tire and mount the bottle in the spare tire carrier under the car. That way you keep the NOS out of the vehical in case of a leak. Also, if done correctly, it's a sleeper, especially with a dry kit. I have run a 5176 on my 95 this way for 6 years without a problem. You will need a bottle blanket and heater though.

Besides, if you were to fill the car with nitrous, you would find it "funnier" than hell. ;)

ViperEater....I'm in the process of doing a nitrous install with a 10# bottle that I hope to mount in the spare tire compartment as you did on your 95. Any pictures, pointers, lessons learned the hard way, etc? I'll take any and all advice. BTW..I have a post in this section about location to mount an MSD Digital 6 if you've done that also. Thanks.
