Default Fuel pump

Hello Everybody,

own a 1989 Corvette with manual transmission. The car has not run in 10 years. The fuel pump is not working. put battery voltage on terminal G of the ALDL no pump noise. So went to the fuel pump.
1) stripped back a little of the orange wire and put 12 volts to it. No pump noise.
2) Stripped back some of the insulation of the wires going from the connector to the pump. The test lamp lit up but no pump noise.
So the pump is NFG, correct?

Thank you

If you've battery voltage to the appropriate connectors at the rear under the appropriate circumstances then I believe it safe to assume the "pump is dead". It seems you've covered the check of it appropriately.

That is what am thinking. In the fuse panel. The fuse marked FR on the bottom is that the fuel pump fuse or is it under the hood. My 84 had a fuse that said FP.

Thank you
Joe

make sure you clean the tank then pull the filter and flush the lines. It is easyer to take the line off the back off the filter then break the return line there then pull it out the top

I was going to replace just the pump but the assembly has rust all over it and the tank wire broke off and needs to be resoldered and the filter insulator fell apart in my hand.
Clean the tank, In the car? How? Thank you

just go in the hole from the top mop and rinse the main fuel filter is by the front pass side exaust pipe. If you don't clean and flush everything it wil plug up your new sock filter and injectors
