Front Brake Replacement Time - C4
I swapped out the OEM pads and rotors with aftermarket parts to improve the stopping power on my Vette. This is a two part series, in which I go into detail about how to get the job done. Grab the popcorn and something cold to drink and enjoy the video, hope it helps someone out. Take it easy - Ozz

Great video.....The only thing I will add, is the 2 bolts that hold the caliper bracket on are suppose to be replaced "every time" the bracket is removed....Now, most of use don't replace the bolts like the FSM says, but if you reuse the bolts you should clean the bolts and bolt holes with brake cleaner , then use loctite on the bolts before retorquing them to spec...If you do get new bolts they come with the adhesive already on them.....This is very important because these bolts coming loose could be catastrophic.......WW
Here are the instuctions that refer to the bolts......
B.Unfasten the 2 mounting bolts and washers and remove the caliper mounting bracket. Discard the mounting bolts, then clean all of the old bolt adhesive from the bolt hole threads.
NOTE: The new bracket mounting bolts come with an adhesive on the threads. You must allow the adhesive to cure for 2 hours after installation before moving the vehicle.

My .02 on the caliper bracket bolt replacement is that I don't think that is necessary. I have never had any issue with bolts loosening up and mine only see autox and track use and get very hot. And I never use thread locker. I do however torque the bolts to a higher value than called for in the FSM. I dont want to disclose what torque I use but I will say that I trust what I do enough to run the car at the limit and trust what I do with my life.
