Quote:{I'm suprized that noone has brought up the built in damping that composite springs have. We built an electric car in college that had no shocks at all. It was all taken care of by the spring}
Mr Cunningham, actually composite springs have less dampening than steel springs. They will make the car bounce if you don't use the proper shocks much less none at all. We have people call all the time after installing composite and complaining that the spring is bad when it's really the shocks which aren't dampening the spring enough. By the way 95wht6spd, the Xtreme spring can be tailored by any rate you want.

Re: C4 handling (VBP)
I never heard of a C4 with steel springs.
C3's have steel springs.
The steel spring they're replacing the early multi-leaf transverse springs?
They are damped by the friction between the leaves.
That electric car went 85mph on 8hp ( yes eight ) and it rode quite nice at speed. No shocks!
