I replaced my shifter boot on my '94 not too long ago. You will need to remove the screws inside the console under the felt covering, and remoethe screw under the drink holder liner, in the front drink holder recess. I think the shifter plate will lift off enough at this point to re-tighten the screws holding it in place. If not you will need to remove the shift **** to completely remove the shifter plate. I also remember removing my console storage compartment lid, but not sure why. Anyhow, I hope this helps you get started.
