Hi, i have a recently received a clicking sound from my tranny, i think it´s in all gears but most noticeable in 2nd. When letting off then on throttle again it clicks ( like there is a increased play somewhere ). The tranny has been totally restored with new clutches etc, for about 6 months ago. I have checked the rest of the driveline but cannot find anything.
Tranny has a TCI full manual valve body without engine brake and a BM sequential shifter. It shifts HARD ( and i love it ). No other tranny mods have been made.
Engine is a E85 fueled 12:1 383 N/A, made 414rwhp with some slippage in the tranny. My guess it should be closer to 500rwhp.
It pulls hard and had no problem agains a Gt500 last race i went to
I run with Federal RSR semislicks tyres.
Am i on the way of grenading this tranny? Is this something anyone have experienced before?
Well theres the reaching for it possibilities like cracked flex plate etc.
But normally its just shot ujoints. Start with the basics first. Get the car up in the air as much as you can (jack stands, ramps, etc) and check for play in the main shaft or the 1/2 shafts going to each wheel. Basically lifted and in neutral you should be able to find whats clicking if its in the driveline from under the car.
I will just throw this out as something easy to check- make sure the trans cable was rigged correctly and is allowing the lever to completely go into gear.
