Default Header/Motor install suggestions

Should I (can I) install the headers on the motor while its out and drop them in all together? Or should I put the headers in the engine bay, drop/mount the motor, hook the headers up. Or install the motor and put the headers in after that?

Hood is off the car so I can get a direct shot to line stuff up, not a big deal as far as that goes. Just not sure if everything will fit like that.

Also, as to not start another new topic. I plan on installing the transmission hooked to the motor, as well as accesories. My question is, where can I bolt the chain for the hoist too? Or am I out of luck on doing that? I dont have it all ready yet so I cant be sure if I have spots, trying to plan in advance... (Motor is going in tonight)

Thanks as normal ;)

Default Re: Header/Motor install suggestions (VetteRacer282)

I had to install the engine with the tranny off and without headers. Once I had the engine in place and bolted down I installed the passenger headers from underneath and the driver side from top.
Maybe someone else has done different, but from the (lack of) room the engine bay has I think putting the headers last is the best bet.
And on the tranny topic if you think you can install the engine with the tranny without banging the tranny or car, then go for it, but someone else will have to help you there. Good luck.
