Was under my '96, changing the oil, and greasing the suspension. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I only found the 4 ball joint fittings, and that's it. Not even the outer tie-rod ends had fittings. Even pulled the back up onto the ramps to see if there were any fittings out back. None there either. Please let me know guys. Thanks
I have not changed the front lower ball joint grease zerts since I bought my 96LT4 new. I have been removing the two front tires to grease the two lower zerts because they have an angle that will not let me attach my old grease gun fitting on the zerts secure enough to keep the grease from not going into the zert. The rim of the wheels do not provide enough room having the zert angle pointing down. I am going to change the zerts before the next grease job.
And all these years you have been correct.....It's named after (Oscar Zerk) who invented it in the 1920s while working for the Alemite Corporation.....WW

Well if that's the case, what in the heck is a zert? Whatever it is, it sounds contagious.

Isn't a zert what we use to get on our faces when we were in our teens.....WW
Zerk fittings are also referred to as Alemite nipples or fittings , Alemite was the company that "Oscar Zerk" worked for when he invented the Zerk fitting...
