1st snapshot? The ignition switch connectors are blue and black.
3rd snapshot? Is the car an M6 or an A4? The stud would be an anchor I believe for the park lock cable anchor behind the accelerator bracket. An M6 car doesn't have that cable so it would be just a "filler" for the hole.
2nd snapshot? If the wires near the box on the other side of the connector are wht/blk & ppl/wht then that's the only explanation.

Thanks for the reply.
1st shot, I didn't see a place for the blue and black connectors to plug in.
2nd shot wires are wht/blk & ppl/wht.
That means VATS bypass, so I don't need the cable from the ignition switch.
3rd shot, it's an automatic. there is a clip on the side of the column that holds the cable
That's the dimmer switch - roll the column over and you'll see the connector side of the ignition switch. Post a snapsot of the connector end if you doubt the function of them.
In this image #22 is the clamp and #23 is the bolt that with an automatic would be behind likely the accelerator pedal and through the flange. I was commenting in regards to the threads that are protruding through the flange, an M6 the bolt/screw holds nothing (just a filler). An A4 car the park lock cable should be anchored similarly to the image, the clamp, cable and bolt would be a finishing touch to the install. There'd be no reason for it to be there on the bench. Were you asking about something else? I didn't see an L-bracket that you described.
The "tag 5119" in this snapshot would have been attached (wrapped around) the wiper switch harness indicating that the switch pig-tail you mentioned not being able to find certainly should be there. The plastic filler in that snapshot is what was likely covering that pig-tail and after removal of the filler you certainly shouldn't have had any problem finding the connector. Did you solve that issue yet?

It's raining in North Carolina and tomorrow looks to be no better.
So I don't think I'll get back to it until the weekend.
That's certainly a possibility. GOOGLE IMAGES could be your friend, just keep poking around until you find something similar. Use the instructions of what you find to compare the pin-outs to what you've got to maybe ID the branding. Is there anything on the label? What's molded into the box?
If you mentioned the connector pin letters and wire colors that the component is wired to maybe it's easier to actually ID the component for you.
A remote start would explain maybe the presence of the VATS by-pass component.
It could maybe also only be a remote entry module also.
