As many of you know my car is back together with CNC'd heads all new valves, springs, etc. It has a double roller timing chain on it as well now.
I'm looking to fire it up tonight and work on the bugs in the evenings. I can dyno it any time I want. I'm just curious how much time I should give it before I really pound on it. I've never really heard of a new head break in, should I worry about it or just hammer on it?
I would however put a couple of miles on it before dropping the hammer just to make sure everything is alright. I rather find a small problem at lower speeds than to discover something at high RPMs which then becomes a major issue.
Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking. I wasn't really going to baby it, but not really punish it either for a few days. If I get it running fairly well tonight I'll probably drive it around the rest of the week and then go hop on the dyno this weekend. Maybe dyno Saturday morning and race it Saturday night :)
