I have been told by several people that when you get a new top for the C4 it should be properly adjusted. Just what does this involve and how do you do it. I have bought several used tops and just put them on, but this is the first new out of the box top. Help !!
Loosen the mounting plates on the front of the top, then hand tighten them so that you can still slide them around gently.
Grab something like a sharpie marker.
With a helper put the top on the car and hold the front edge of the top up. Press the front bolts up with the top tool and line the plates up over them so that the bolts can be screwed in. Take your sharpie marker and outline the edge of the mounting plate.
Now remove the top and lay it on a blanket upside down on a smooth surface. Line the plates up with the outline in case they moved when removing the top and tighten them down. That should do it.
Re: New Glass Top, Needs to be Adjusted ?? (lee.anderson)
I just did mine yesterday.
Take the roof off and loosen the front adjustment screws. If the back is too high, then loosen the rear ones also.
Take both of the sun visors off and the rear view mirror (they can just hang on the electric lines). Then remove the plastic trim around the top of the
windshield. You will find three holes in the metal support for the top. The center hole is for the top screw and the two outside holes are for adjusting the two adjustment screws. Put the top back on and line up the center hole with the screw and then tighten down the two outside adjustment screws.
Then just replace the trim, mirror and sun visors and the top will fit great. It only takes about 1/2 an hour to do it.

Thanks to all, I did as you said and it fit like it was made for it, did everything but the car wash as I already have the front windshield leak that I think is built in at the factory as every C4 I have had has had it.
