easyest thing to start is either a fuel pressure gauge onto the schaeder valve or squirt starting fluid in as somebody else cranks engine. if it fires u have spark. but yah. either coil/ignition or fuel. should be easy to find with help here.
do u own a fuel pressure gauge?

Fuel pressure, 50 cranking pounds. It seems much more like an ignition issue than fuel, all the fuel system is less than a year old.
The FSM only shows something it calls a "terminal module" inside the distributor, doesn't say what it does. Is this the ignition module?
Also noticed thet yellow coil wire had gotten hot and melted a little bit of insulation. Not sure if it has anything to do with it but the wire's still perfectly intact.
Off now to get a spark tester.

looking fwd to hearing how coil test goes. i think there is a way to test for voltage at coil on the car? ive never had spark issues yet so havnt done it.
Took a crap shoot and bought a new ICM, installed it and the engine didn't turn a millisecond before it fired right up. Man if feels good to do your own repairs, thanks for the input guys. Tow home: $55 Spark tester: $20 (needed one anyway) ICM: $30 Rick
That's got to be the cheapest tow bill I've ever seen! Congrats on getting her running again.

It would have been worth more if I hadn't had to listen to the driver's marital problems all the way home.
As an ongoing saga Monday morning I made a quick errand and the next time I tried to start it, it wouldn't. Again no spark.
Took the ICM back out and to the parts store to be tested. The girl hooked it up and it got blazing hot in seconds so she swapped it out.
Also mentioned the melted coil wire insulation and she swapped it out too, lifetime warranty !!
I'm not sure the coil wasn't frying the ICM. It had a lot of fine, rust colored powder all inside it's cavity and it was only a year old. All back together and running great so far.

Funny i was looking at spark testers last weekend and bought the wrong one. I realize the spark lighted ones tell u if the spark plug is firing. So of course i bought the non-lighted tester - the kind that clips to ground and just makes its own spark. U need to ground through the plug to verify the plug works to. I guess this helps more for rough running than complete failure though.

Thx for posting.
I looked at the cheaper ones too, they just didn't look all that great. I've needed one for a while, mostly for my small engine crap that constantly seems to not want to run.
So far everything's still working great. I amazed just how smooth the engine is, runs great.
