True. You don't want to have to take it apart again. Don't forget that you need a C4 pump and not something for a 350 Chevy. IIRC, it is reverse rotation and either short or long but I can't remember. Edelbrock makes a decent pump. As to getting a tune, I would either get a dyno tune or at least one that is done with datalogging. While the motor is out, check if the injectors are Multec. If not, send them for cleaning and testing or just get a rebuilt set. If they are, get a rebuilt set and toss them. While you are doing all that, cap and rotor and wires would be great. If the manifold is off, take off the IAC and the IAC housing and clean the TB and the passages. New paper gaskets.

I don't know Mr ****** but I know Elvis and Mr Ed? Does that help? Seriously: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-mrwillys.html

Many beers and a lot of swear words later, it finally slipped in.

Do the brackets all fit on your Hooker headers? Some have reported that the AC bracket supports don't?
All the AC brackets fit fine. But the alternator bracket that goes on the cylinder 1 exhaust port bolts does not fit.

Also, on my 91 Camaro looked like it was impossible to install a dual exhaust system. The Corvette on the other hand just has the 2 pipes squeeze right through the trans tunnel, under the C-beam.

Interesting since people have complained about a cracked AC bracket and supposedly the updated one comes out with one more brace.

IIRC, a few people on the F-body groups have. Not sure exactly why but the way I see it, the clearance will be less. I once tried running it without the Y but it didn't seem to yield anything much at the track other than noise. Not really sure of the benefit of a true dual exhaust except for nostalgia. IIRC, there supposedly is some theoretical benefit of a H or X pipe but whether it does something significant and quantifiable as opposed to getting an easier fix which is a 3 in pipe, IDK

The rear AC support bracket isn't as important on the 85-87. Its the 88+ models where they redesigned the main AC support to be weak as sh** that really must have all the bracing.

And yet I see 2 versions of the bracket? One with less braces than the other?

Correct, they redesigned the bracket, but both versions are weak.

The later version has more support brackets that fit onto it than the original. If left off, you will crack the bracket.

I don't suppose we can retrofit the old bracket unless you also change the compressor and everything else?

The 85-87 bracket? No I don't think so.
