Question, how do you keep the black threaded part from turning? When I turn the big nut with the spanner wrench the black threaded part turns also.
Am I missing something simple? I looked for a set screw in the big nut but didn't see one.

Help

My foxbody coilover sleeves have a notch on one end so the strut wont let it turn but I'm never really messed with coil over shock kits. I have read to use anti-seize so that the adjuster nut won't seize up or bind. Prob why it's better to use a threaded bodied shock than coil over adapter kit. Still maybe try a strap wrench to hold the sleeve w/o damaging it.

Did you elevate the car, to take most of the load off the springs? That makes it much easier to adjust.

Yeah had it on jack stands. Sprayed lube on them, there's just no room to hold the threaded part while turning the nut.
I thought someone with this type shock might have a trick or something.

Thanks

Try jamming something in-between the coils then to wedge the sleeve.

edit: Heck you could prob cut n feed an old serp belt inside and around then just twist it tight.

I finally got it. I put a hose clamp around the threaded part so I could get a good grip on it and I was able to turn the nut.

Thanks a bunch folks.
