Default strange courtesy light problem

the crtsy lights come on when i open the doors and they go off after a time when doors closed.

by rotating the light switch ****, they come on when car is off and when car is on....but not if the headlights are on.

if headlights are on/up, turning the **** to activate these interior lights does nothing.

ideas? i have resesrched and all threads i have found are centered on lights either not coming on with doors being opened, or staying on forever.

I dont know anything else specifically that would only shut off the lights with the headlight on position so I would think to replacing the headlight switch. Sounds like there is something worn inside of it. Try turning on the headlights and courtesy lights and jiggle the **** around to see if they might flicker.

Hope you figure it out and Good Luck!!

Just trying to figure out which wire I can run straight to the door jamb. To activate interior lights when I rotate the ****.
