Default Digital Dash Question

When the dash starts up it is relatively dim - after it warms up or gets bounced around (I don't know yet) it gets brighter. Even when it does brighten up the left side is brighter than the right side. I read somewhere about a problem where pins come unsoldered on the circuit board. Does this sound like the same problem?

If the pins are coming unsoldered then the turn signals and high beam indicator will be lit up all the time.

When the soldering went bad on mine, the turn signals and high beam light weren't on, but the soldering job fixed it and now it works great. However, the other symtoms don't seem to fit. Here is the repair link http://batee.com/corvette/

When the pin closest to the center of the circuit board becomes unsoldered the 4 lamps that illuminate your cluster go dark. There is a single row of pins on the front (of the car) board that plugs into a socket on the rear board. The pin becomes unsoldered because of the age relaxed spring on the socket.

If just one side is going dim it may be bulbs. if that's it, it isn't a big deal to fix 'em......... if you get in there make sure you don't touch them with your fingers because the are halogen and will get ruined. also there are metal sheilds in front of the bulbs. if you remove them and turn on the key ...... you could be "blinded by the light" ........he he :yesnod:  :seeya
