Well, finally got my car back from the shop...took it 3 weeks ago. But it was a friend so i got a decent deal. Anyway, took it to get rear main seal checked out and replaced. Apparently oil got into clutch while i was driving it, clutch was in bad shape. got it replaced as well. Now I have 3 problems, 1 of which is quite serious.
1) Brake lights arent illuminating. Flashers work, signals work, all back taillights work, just dont illuminate when i hit the brakes. The only one that does is the center brake light.
2) The reverse lock spring thing that keep you from going from 5th to reverse is just loose and has no affect on anything. can put in reverse without pulling that pin up.
3) Center console no longer closes. It will shut, but won't latch onto anything so when i change speeds, it bounces around and opens.
If anyone can shed any light on these problems for me so maybe i can save myself a trip back to the guy's shop, i'd appreciate it. ESPECIALLY #1, dont want to drive without brake lights.

Okay, let me rephrase this. I dont want to drive back, its almost 2 hours away. I was hopeing someone could lend me a bit of a hand on what might be wrong with my brakelights. There is NO way i'm driving 2 hours with only a center brake light. :cuss

Well, I would check fuses. I don't know of anything involved in R&R of the tranny that would effedct the brake lights.
As for the reverse lockout, that is worth taking it back, or live without it.
As for the door, make sure all of the screws holding the lid on (should be 4 of them) are nice and tight. If the front ones are loose, then the door will not lock properly.

I read in another post that the center brake light (CHMSL) and the left and right rear brake lights are on separate switches. You may be able to check this out by dropping your driver's side hush panel and checking to see if both switches are working properly.
