I've heard all the systems on line but none impress me. Looking for beefy cat-back pipes that can be matched with new or existing rectangular tips. Thought Billy Boat would do it. Not so sure. 95 LT1 convertible. Suggestions?
I bought my 95 recently with Flowmasters and rectangular tips. It's too loud, and I'm considering going back to stock. The drone at 2000 rpms is terrible.

Racing bullets are pretty loud when you get on them or forget mufflers just run straight pipe! They have no muffler bolt on catbacks. I think drone has to do with tip placement, I make sure to put the tip just past the bumper and small leaks sometimes will cause drone.
Well, FWIW my car has LT headers, an X, then cats and Corsas and has a serious drone. And it's not quiet! If not for the drone, it would be completely tolerable to me, though.

96 LT4, heavily modified: 396 stroker, very ported heads, lots of overlap (108* lob centers) etc. So yeah, lots of changes there. But also the whole exhaust is custom fabbed, so it's not like just swapping to Corsas on an otherwise stock exhaust. It would be easier to list what hasn't been modified!
This is my 96 Coupe. When I first modified my stock exhaust, it was just getting rid of the mufflers. Sounded good on the outside but the drone inside was horrible. Gave me a headache and couldn't talk with my passenger without yelling. A friend of mine told me to get rid of the resonator and switch to an Xpipe. What a difference. Sounds even better now outside and I could have a normal conversation without the droning. Here's what it sounds like now.
