Removing 93 6 speed lever

Removing 93 6 speed lever
I'm trying to pull the engine on the 93 LT1 and the six speed lever is in the way how do I remove the six speed lever?
I just don't know if I can tilt the engine enough so the shift lever will clear the
interior of the car as I'm pulling the engine.
I guess I'll have to wait until Monday to find out.
The hoist I rented would not lift the engine because of a bad hydraulic leak and
They are closed on Sunday.

The number of post is because of editing.
Once you edit it there is nothing to click on stating re post.
So I would get out and look to see and there would be nothing there so I would go back in and try it again.

Gear shift **** removal.
I'm stripping the interior on my 1995 Convertable and am down to the console part. How does the six speed gear shift **** come off ? Is it pressed on or does it screw off ?
