C4 HEADLIGHTS
I turned on my front headlights after several months of having the car in storage. The headlights popped up into position but I could hear the headlight motor continuing to run for at least 5 additional seconds following retraction. Is this normal? Is there a potential problem with the headlight system? Any assistance would be appreciated in foreseeing future headlight problems due to continuous running of the headlight motor upon completion of retraction.

Sounds like you'll need to replace the bushings. My buddy just did both of his in his '88. Since I didn't help him I can't give any pointers, but I will tell you this, it only cost him $5 for each headlight for the bushings.

Try to move the headlights by turning the manual *****. If movement is immediate the problem is in the motors; if movement is "mushy" change the three nylon bushings as indicated.
