Re: Can you clean the radiator from the underside? (champs_97)
nope........ya gotta pull it....... well ya don't HAVE to pull it .....but you at least have to pull the shroud............I modified mine to get it off easier then I move the condenser out of the way and leave the rad in place :seeya
Re: Can you clean the radiator from the underside? (champs_97)
It's really simple to pull the rad. 10mm, 7mm and 2 larger ones that I forget the size. 13 I think, but I could be wrong. You'll also want a screw driver for the air ducting as the screw posts will most likely spin, and you use the screw driver to prevent that. If you're pulling it, you may want to change your thermostat at the same time. Since the fluid will be out and all. There is a great tech tip on pulling the rad. I think Scorp mentioned to have someone run the car at 2k rpm after it has come up to temp on the thermostat, while you pour in your water/fluid mix. This will help get the air out of the system. Let us know what treasures you find. The best i've read so far are a dead rat, and a $20 bill. I only had a ruffles bag, and some weeds.

Where I got out the most stuff is within the radiator fins. I soaked the beast in degreaser and then power-sprayed about half a pound of sand out of it...this would not have come out with a garden hose only. Now I run about 10 degrees cooler. Complete job: 4 hours for me. :yesnod:
