I am working on my throttle bodies/injectors 84 Vette, took everything apart including the pressure regulator, now the service manual says not to remove the cover of the regulator since it is adjusted at the factory. I seen a rebuild kit( basically just a couple of diaphragm gaskets) sold everywhere, if the regulator is not supposed to be serviced, why are the kits sold? Since I already have it apart, how do I know if it is set correctly? I saw the screw that you can turn up or down, I think it is in the same position as found. The manual does not say how to adjust if you take it apart, anybody with the same experience?
There are lots of things not designed to be fixed that can be. You can put it back together, hope it doesn't leak, and check the pressure with a gauge. But since you've gone this far as might as well get an adjustable one (externally adjustable).
I saw a guy on YouTube installing an adjustable one on a twin throttle body from a truck, it looked simple enough. I installed a 1985 pump, what is the preferred pressure?

You want 13 psi to the injectors. If you have a stock 84 fuel pump this may be hard to get. A lot of folks run 85 or later C4 pumps to get this pressure. If you do not mess with the adjustment screw, you will likely be close to 12-13 psi just by reassembling it. There is a knock out in the bottom of the fuel pressure regulator housing that must come out to adjust the regulator. Without a special tool, you must remove the TBIs each time you make an adjustment, its another trial & error procedure but, the Cross-Fire is VERY sensitive to fuel pressure and getting it right is worth the effort.
There's so many good reads that might be interesting. I don't believe I'd rush into it and if you're serious about the Cross-Fire I'd maybe chase some of the tools, consider the construction of the TB to TB pipe with a Silver Soldered fitting for a gauge maybe.
Read, read and then some more and maybe create a list of questions that could be maybe addressed individually. I had a couple friends with Cross-Fire years ago and both of were modded a good bit. I didn't participate but remember both were pretty happy at the time.

Yes I saw the knockout on the regulator and I think I can make a simple tool to make adjustments, going to get a gauge to install on the fuel line to make the adjustments.

We are actually pretty close and I have the gauge and tool from when I owned the '84. I'm west of Denver
