Is it possible to have the ECM programmed to start the car with the OD in the off position? I find it very annoying when the car decides to shift on it's own, and it usually does it at the most inopportune time. :cuss
If the computer cannot be programmed, can the OD be bypassed in a way that will not interfere with the ECM? I would rather not set off any trouble codes, and I would still like to have a functioning OD light. Has anyone modified their car to solve this problem, and if so, how did you do it?

Just press the button on top of your shifter before driving. :)
I just joined this forum. This place seems to have the most action!!!
I just bought my Vette last year. I may have an answer to your Overdrive problem. See my website. http://home.attbi.com/~rleickhorst
Yes, but it is not in the tables. It is in the actual code.
It should be similar for other type 32 bin files.
Send me your bin file and I will take a look.

I knew it was hardcoded, but nobody seemed to be able to find it. I'll email you my $32b BIN if you feel like playing. :D
Sounds like a stupid GM improvment. My 84 OD (upgrade without TV) works only with the switch. Its more of just an on/off button next to the window button. I'm going to have to trace the wires see where they go.
