4+3 Overdrive
Is it possible to have the ECM programmed to start the car with the OD in the off position? I find it very annoying when the car decides to shift on it's own, and it usually does it at the most inopportune time. :cuss
If the computer cannot be programmed, can the OD be bypassed in a way that will not interfere with the ECM? I would rather not set off any trouble codes, and I would still like to have a functioning OD light. Has anyone modified their car to solve this problem, and if so, how did you do it?

I'm sure it is, possible. This would take a code hack. Unless you find someone who did it already, it would take a fair amount of time.
Best approach would be to set the OD "ON" temp very (MAX) high. This should be quick. (No hack needed)
The 86 is wired a little different. I forget if the switch is tied to the OD light or not.

Yes, but it is not in the tables. It is in the actual code.
It should be similar for other type 32 bin files.

Sounds like a stupid GM improvment. My 84 OD (upgrade without TV) works only with the switch. Its more of just an on/off button next to the window button. I'm going to have to trace the wires see where they go.
