I've been smelling AF here and there for a while. After a quick run tonight was smelling it again. When I got back home I popped the hood and there was old dried up AF on the underside of the hood. There was some fresh AF on top of the intake duct. And a very small fresh spot on the floor but it would have had to come from about 6" in front of the Radiator. Inspected all the hoses and all around the water pump and found nothing fresh leaking.
I'm thinking either the water pump is on it's way out and it's dripping on the serp belt and that is how the AF got on the hood? Or maybe a Radiator leak and the fans and airflow land it on the belt to get it on the hood?
If it's your H2O pump, the fluid is coming from the underside of the pump, there's a weep hole there. Just reach in under the pump and see if it's wet. Another sign of a dead H2O pump is intermitant loss of power steering, when the pump pees on the belt, it slips and your PS goes away.
