Re: G-Tech...anyone use it at the track? (95AquaC4)
I have....Had a buddy take it down the track with his GS. ET was dead on...of course the MPH was a little high. Someone else tried it out and it was off .3
Might be due to driver error....not sure.
It gives actual MPH, not averaged MPH like the track timers. Mine is very accurate. People that bitch about it usually have the wrong weight for the car or don't have it perfectly centered.
One thing I think a lot of people don't account for is how deep they stage in the lights. The Gtech will start as soon as you begin moving. The track timers start as soon as you move out of the staging beams.
I haven't checked mine for accuracy, but it is very consistent. Some folks will say you have to have it in exactly the same spot, position, etc for it to be repeatable. Based on my experience, that is not true.

I have tried it and it varied alot for me. I am supposedly running 12.1 at 118. I wish!
I just think it too suspetable to outside influences. I suppose if you really spent some time with it, you could get some decent (relative) reading for use in tuning. But I would be a tad bit reluctan to post the results as actual times for your car.
