I'm sending in my motor(L98) to Jaspers to have it rebuild this next week(I hope,I hope).
Does it make sence to go ahead and have the transmission rebuilded too?
Why?
How hard is it to remove the trany with the motor in place?
Thanks again!
Yea, it's going to be back to stock i'm afraid. As far as I can remember, there was nothing wrong with the trany. I have even back flushed it and replace the filter.
The warrentee that comes with the rebuild includes labor 3yr/75k mi. so that I won't have to mess with it.
I was just trying to think ahead that if it was a pain, I would just get it done.
By the way. Sorry to see that your driving days are numbered this year!

You'll most likely be okay with that warrantee. AFA the current mechanical state of the Sled:
"That which doesn't kill me, makes my Vette stronger." (Or something like that.)
There' about 118k on the trany.
I believe the question isn't so much how do I drive it but, how does the wife. Sence I retired two years ago , she has been using it as a commute vehicle approx. 80-100 miles/day four times a week.
But then again the LP's on her car read PBFTLO!
$900.00! Wow! What kind of warrentee did you get?
I had one dealing with a rebuild shop with my Bronco...it was bad! He kept on adding to the price as he was rebuilding it and when I went in to pick it up he threaten to seize it, If I didn't pay for the unagreed cost!
Well I guess that I will wait to see once I start it up and see what does.
Thanks
