Re: Ok everyone...post your winter mods!! (My 88 C4C)
Stuff waiting to be installed: Hurst shifter, Fluidyne oil cooler, and smaller blower pulley so I can go 14psi boost and get a some power out of this thing. Will also be redoing the intercooler piping; may upgrade to a dual-intercooler setup. Oh, and of course more computer tuning....
Re: Ok everyone...post your winter mods!! (95AquaC4)
I want fourth gear back. :(
And I'm also hoping a sloppy torque converter and a slipping tranny was the reason why my motor was down 80-100 hp on the Dyno.
If not, then I gues my OTHER winter project is finding that horsepower!
So, 9/11 torque converter, and a Brian Hartman built 700r4 is _my_ winter project.
Oh, but I've got to get my accessory brackets aligned (cracked one of the brackets) and see if they guys that retro'd r134a can figure out why it won't blow cold after 3500 miles or so.
If it's not one thing, it's about a half dozen others.
Oh yeah, and somewhere in there, I need to make the AIR system _look_ functional, and get a CAT back in there to pass emissions. :jester

i was going to say 219 cam, intake and long tube headers but after seeing gcrouse's ride  i think i'll just pull the motor throw in a 305, single the exhaust and put a honda emblem on.
i like that set up
Re: Ok everyone...post your winter mods!! (95AquaC4)
1. Rear brake rebuild: Power Stop Rotors, Earls brake lines, new pads, seal kit. Have these parts, ecxept the pads, allready waiting for installation.
1b. at the same time replace passenger side rear bearing and U-joints, just did the driver side and now the passenger side feels worn compared to drivers side :mad
1c. also inspect rear end bearings at this point as they seem to have minor free play - if there is a problem - take rear end outta car and rebuild it
2. Front brake upgrade: Power Stop 13" rotors, GS calipers+brackets etc, Earls brake lines, new pads
3. Install audio system, I got all the components but need time and place to rip the interior apart for this project
4. Possibly take out original, rusted fuel tank and replace with fuel cell if I figure out how to make stock fuel gauge work
5. And if my wallet can take the pounding I will also convert my red interior carpet black ;)
Re: Ok everyone...post your winter mods!! (tkrussell)
Installing the X-Brace if RD ever finishes it.
Stripping off old clear coat and refinishing the wheels.
Putting a screen at the radiator inlet so I don't have to clean it so often.
A screen on the radiator inlet...Excellant idea! Now I have two projects over the winter, window weatherstripping and a screen.

Who's got time for all that stuff...Winter is the time for taking the top off and doing a lot of cruising. No white stuff here (other than that falling out of airplanes.)
