I know this may sound silly, but my chimes when I start the car for seat belt, lights on after car is off and turn signal on too long is sounding very sick and chimes only about 5 seconds or less before they finally stop chiming at all.... a friend was in the car the other day with me and said the chimes sound like they are dying.....just curious if anyone else has this problem and is it difficult to fix? Maybe i should be glad that they do not chime much anymore, but I do like my car to stay as original as I can keep it.... thanks in advance Ray in alabama
Chimes? I've never heard any chimes. I wish i could get them to work. I've already locked myself out because of the no chimes thing. If they sound like they're dying, they are ... or ... if an elderly man sounds like he is dying, he's already dead
Mine works once in a while. The CHIME unit is in the middle of the dash behind the DIC. Big PIA to get to, that's why mine is not replaced, yet!
Yep. Add me to the list. Seems like they are intermittant - they try to work but keep cutting out and the note (tone?) is weak. Had me going for a while but I figured if it was a major malfunction that I would eventually see some kind of code. Hasn't seemed to hurt anything so I'm living with it. Figures that it's mounted in the center of the dash.....all but impossible to get to without a major disassembly - think I'll just leave well enough alone.....for now.
My would chime every now and then. It sounded it is was dying with that sloooow long chime sound. Yuck. I mostly heard it when I reattached my battery terminal after doing some work!
I replaced that thing ($40 buck later), but now I have a very nice chime! It was a bitch to install, but it maybe took about 90 minutes to install. I can now say everything works on the car again! :D
