I ordered one about 4 months ago. Put it on the car and it would not maintain the pressure. It adjusted so much, you could shut off the fuel completely.
The maintaining of pressure problem consisted of:
I would set pressure at WOT (45lbs) and then the pressure at idle was tooo low. I could not find a happy medium and threw it away. :mad
I bought the Holley and after comparing the parts to a stock regulator I decided not to use it. The srping that it comes with looks and feels very wimpy compared to that stock piece and the plunger assembly is not tapered like the stock piece to fit in the regulator housing. Holley claims they do not make one for the Corvette although I know many on the forum are using them.
I bought the TPIS billet unit. Have not installed it yet, but much like several others, it uses the stock internals and just replaces the cap.
Looks like TPIS makes one for the 92-96 LT1 engines, but not one for the L98. Anyone got any other suggestions?
TPIS makes an AFPR for the L98, part # 100-002, $89.
I am running a TPIS AFPR on my LT1 and it works great.
Also, you need a fuel pressure guage to tune the AFPR.

Thats the part. Their older catalogs did not list it for 85-91 vettes because the printer screwed it up. The new 2003 catalog has it listed properly.
It also comes with the gaskets and security torx bit to install.
Should I get it from TPIS, or somewhere else. Jegs has it, but for the same prices as TPIS. Also, where should I get the guage to measure it? I want one that doesn't stay on the car. TIA
I just picked up FMS 24# and the Holley AFPR last week, so I should know how it'll do tomorrow after I finish polishing one of my runners. But from a topic I posted (and a few others) the Holley seems to be the best AFPR, and you don't need a wrench to adjust.
Can you make your own regulator??? Welding a nut on the cap
and using a allen screw to adjust up or down on the pressure.
Maybe someone else has done this??
Matt
