Default 94 Console Electrical Connector to nowhere

I am replacing the console assembly on my 94. In putting things back
together, I've come across a wire connector that has no male matching
connector. I took the thing apart a while ago and don't remember if
this was just laying in the console unconnected or not. I don't have
selective ride control so maybe it's supposed to be hooked to that if
you have the option, but it's driving me crazy. I can't make heads or
tails out of the factory manuals in tracking this down. The connector
is right near the console button for the deck rear lid release (I have
a convertible) and it has 5 wires going into it in a two rows of four
pattern (3 are not used), black, gray, dark green with a white stripe,
light green in a row, then one black with a white stripe below these.
The connector also has an attachment post on it that would be pushed
into a hole somewhere for securing it to a panel I guess. I can email
you a picture of the connector if this would help.

Do both of your power seats work? Or how about the lumbar or bolsters?(if you have sport seats).

The only thing I can think of that's under there is the light for the console(when you open the console door), but that is only two wires, the hatch release button is only two(or maybe 3 wires).
The cig lighter, the power seats, and the three extra wires(which should have the ends wrapped in tape). The only 5 wire thing should be for the seats.

If you have a pic, that would be cool since I don't feel like taking my console apart(although I have to anyway).

Not sure about that connector but there is 3 wires that GM left there, right by the rear deck release button, for owners to use as power for accessories. 1 power all the time, 1 keyed power & ground. I don't have selective ride and I don't remember seeing it when I took my console apart running the wiring for my flameball shifter. Wish I could help you more.

CowboyNVette's got it! The owners manual has a blurb about these wires. You can use them for a cell phone, radio or whatever you need to power up without using the cigarette lighter.

My 92 has a Orange wire that connects to the battery (always hot) and a pink wire (powered at ignition RUN position) and a black ground. These leads are rated for 15 amps.

Read again, it's 5 wires, not three. I mentioned the same three wires.

No, I do have the three wire connector and the console button wires already identified. The seats and lumber do work, however the lumber is "intermitent" in operation. I thought the switches were bad (they looked worn out too) so I've replaced them during this console overhaul but lumbar is still intermitent. I appriciate the help.

look at this thread, see sleve89 pictures, might contact him and ask him if your pic or the terminal ends are for the switch. hope it helps answer the question.

sorry about the delay mmg, i've been out of phase with the forum of late :bb

the FX3 Ride Selector Switch utilizes a two pin connector (Orange and Yellow wires) - sorry

i've scanned my manual ('89) and the closest i see for an 8 pin connector in that vicinity, it is the Power Mirror Selector - the '89 uses wires kinda close in color to what you've described (Black/White DkBlue DkGreen Black) - i imagine that your Mirror Select Switch's connector is accounted for though!

greys and greens are common in stereo circuits
greys are also somewhat common for instrument/console lighting

it is part of the main harness, correct?

still investigating this one....

Yep, part of the main harness. Mirror controls are one the drivers door on the 94 and they both work. Thanks for the info about the stereo thing...may be, however everything works that I can tell on the car. I've just about given up on this one and will button it all up, but if you find anything please let me know. Thanks again.
