Default Powder coat 1994 valve covers

I was hoping to have my 1994 LT1 valve covers powder coated. But I'm not even sure what material are the valve covers made of? Looks like some sort of composite material. Can they even be powder coated? Any tips/traps I should have in mind before I go talk to the local powder coating guy? Also, I'd like to replace the center bolts with chrome, but I can find any online. Can the they be powder coated too?

If memory serves me correctly the valve covers were changed to composite material in 1993. You cannot powder coat plastic.
Look at the Corvette Central on line catalog for custom valve covers and valve cover bolts. Also try Summit Racing.

Darn, I was hoping to do something like this picture. I wonder what kind of paint / powder coat this fellow used?

I'm interested in how you make out with this. I may do something similar on my 96. Good luck.

Most people paint all those parts.
They are painted on my C5 cost me $50 at the local body shop.

Bought some fuel rail covers and took them and my valve covers and caliper covers to my body shop guy and got them all painted. I got it all installed yesterday. Here are some pics. Thanks for the guidance.
