Just purchased 94, When first starting car cold dash LCD works great. Turned on the heat and drove. after about 5 to 10 minutes parts of the LCD starts disappearing. MPG then a single bar on the MPH read out then fuel readings and eventually everything is gone. Reached destination then after about 15 min started the car again and most of the readings were back but not all. While driving home I noticed them disappearing again. IT was getting warmer out so I turned off the heat and lowered a window about an inch. I then noticed readings were beginning to appear again. I rolled the window down and the reading returned quickly. I repeated the sequence several times on the remainder of the trip each with the same results. Old test pilot training and luck with this. Now does anyone have any idea on what is wrong and how to correct. Concerned with summer coming on.
Sounds like some connections or solder joints might need some attention many threads and one place that most use for Iinfo and repairs. Starts with a B but can not remember the name at the moment.
Baits or something

The lcd in the 94 I bought a few months ago was intermittent (mostly not working). Apparently it's usually fixable. I took mine apart and found that moving the position of the lcd pins in the connector just right would make it work again so I ordered the new connector. I desoldered the old one and soldered in the new one. It was my first time sodlering anything this small and it went really well. But, upon putting everything back together it still didn't work quite right. I inspected the lcd very closely and found that while pressing lightly on a little silver square (that I assume is the brain for the lcd or something of the sort) everything would work fine. I looked at it really closely and saw a small crack in it which is the culprit for my car. I have since ordered another cluster and will either use that or rob the lcd from it.
In the future I might try to heat the problem spot up and put some pressure on it as it cools to see if that restores function
