Default Considering Summit NOS kit

I have a modified 1988 C4 that really performs compared to a stock L98 C4. I am asking for feedback on NOS. A friend suggested 100-150 shot. The Summit kit is under $700. If its safe to use and I read that it is if installed correctly then it sounds good. What kind of power would this mod provide ? Can it be set up to only engage when the rpm's reach say 3500 and cut out at 5000 ? I am not familiar with the way it works. That seems to me to be the way to go. I am not interested in a manual control for it. I'd rather it work off the rpm's. In the next month I am finally going to take it to Fire Bird raceway and see what time it will run on street tires. I expect 13 sec as it sits. Rear tire inflation 16lbs

Lots of ways you can do nitrous, I suggest you post/link the exact kit so you can get better suggestions and read though the directions that are usefully on summit. If your car runs right then it should work right, but if there is any hiccup nitrous will only make it much worse and break stuff. The more you know, the better with nitrous!

You can use an rpm activated switch or any of the nitrous controllers and I strongly suggest a timing retard of sorts. Many nitrous websites have a FAQ that can answer some of your questions. You can also find good deals on c-list for new but never installed kits sometimes.

a window switch combined with a wot switch is what you want.

open the valve and turn on the system to standby and its ready for those two conditions to be met before it sprays.

nitrous is cheap and if budget is a big concern its the better choice but boost will make more power, more consistently.

the stock bottom end will work fine with either boost or nitrous, but you want to upgrade fuel pump to walbro 340 255l/hr with rcetronix hot wire mod, even on mild shots (ie. 100 hp). also a good time to replace fuel filter!!!

a mustang friend once described nitrous to me as 'inconvenient' and it was the best description one can come up with.

lets start with bottle. anything less than a full tank will start mKing less power.

i want you to thnk how annoying this is. it'd be like your car got slower as your gas tnk was lower on fuel. a bottle heater will not help.
for example:if you spray a full bottle and then use a bottle heater to heat up a half full bottle to ex. 1000 psi, it wont make as much power.

it had something to do with the ratio of liquid to gaseous nitrous in there. under pressure some of the nitrous turns into a liquid. more liquid is better for more power.

this was the biggest annoyance about nitrous and is a not-often discussed gripe....

that said, a full tank, spraying at idle with tires that hook, would be awesome for some quarter mile blasts.
